Hey there! My name is Ijeoma Okoye. I’m a first generation American who has fulfilled every Nigerian parent’s dream (and mine as well)–become a medical doctor. I recently obtained my MD and the road surely was not easy! The imposter syndrome is definitely setting in as I switch gears to my intern year in Family Medicine residency. I started this blog after my first year of med school for all current and aspiring medical professionals. Our lives are so dedicated to our craft that sometimes we lose balance. The goal is to share my stories and those of other students about how we are able to deal. Along the way, you’ll learn about my interests, explorations, and personality. This life we chose is honestly a constant balancing act and I hope that you’ll find some insight on how to conquer yours. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to contact me anytime. Under the “Blog” tab, you’ll find stories from me. Under the “Words from the wise” tab, you’ll find the stories and perspectives of others. Enjoy!
